Boas Out And Capello In As Tottenham Find Replacement

Boas Out And Capello In As Tottenham Find Replacement

Its not even been two years and Andre Villas-Boas, also known as AVB, has been given the boot. Tottenham’s 5-0 hammering by Liverpool at White Hart Lane was the final straw for the London club. It appears as if Mr Boas does not have the best luck when dealing with London clubs, after failing to impress during his nine months at Chelsea.

So where next for Andre Villas-Boas? Well for someone who has taken charge at two big English sides he is still yet inexperienced as a manager. Which could mean he ends up with another European side, further honing his skills. But where next for Tottenham? A team which is fighting for a place in Europe will want some stability. They require consistency to make sure players are clear on their roles.

Andre Villas-Boas failed to display his worth

Rumour has it that Tottenham Hotspur Football Club are thinking of appointing Fabio Capello as the new manager. He has been in England, and watched Chelsea play against Crystal Palace over the weekend. He has the experience of top flight football, and has the experience of getting his sides to perform.

Capello is currently working as the manager for the Russian national side, who are preparing for the World Cup. But since his contract is not being extended past the finals in Brazil, he will be free agent in the summer. He had been trying to extend his contract with the Russian FA to 2018, when the World Cup will be held in Russia.

If the Italian manager does not extend his current contract then Daniel Levy, Spurs chairman and Franco Baldini, Spurs technical director, will be further encouraged to pursue the five-time Serie A winning manager. Baldini and Capello have a long running relationship, as the former acted as Capello’s assistant manager with England during Capello’s four year stint as England manager.

Both also worked together at Real Madrid and Roma, where Capello led the teams to league titles. As soon as Tottenham fans hear about this they will be putting two and two together, and hoping that Capello brings some silverware to the club should he be appointed and then stay.
