Could Didier Drogba Be On His Way Back To Chelsea
It hasn’t been long since Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho said that he didn’t have any strikers, going on to hint that he wasn’t sure how old Samuel Eto’o was even though the striker is in his first season at Stamford Bridge. Losing faith in such a high profile striker must be a tough pill to swallow.
For Mourinho, what is definitely noticeable is the lack of a dominant figure up front. When Didier Drogba was at Chelsea he spearheaded the attack, using his instincts, strength and power. And with Drogba returning to Chelsea wearing the shirt of Galatasaray and helping his team secure a draw in the first leg of the first knockout round, it has been suggested that the Ivorian striker could return to Stamford Bridge wearing the blue shirt once again.
A second stint in a Chelsea shirt could be on the cards for Didier Drogba
Crazier things have happened. Now in his second stint at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho would not have contemplated the thought of ever returning to the club so soon after his high profile departure. But the Premiership has changed shape drastically over a season, and it raises the possibility of Didier Drogba joining his old manager again to stamp Chelsea’s dominance domestically as well as Europe.
The striker is a goal scorer through and through and he himself has stated that he would be tempted should Chelsea come knocking. In his second season at the Turkish side, he is out of contract in the summer which will get the rumour mill churning should he put in a memorable performance against his old side in the second leg. Could Didier Drogba force his way back to Chelsea?
