Legendary Broadcaster David Frost Has Passed Away at Age 74
David Frost Dies at 74 – The highly proclaimed and legendary British broadcaster, David Frost passed away on Saturday, leaving a legacy of reporting and many fond memories for the general public to remember. The man who dedicated over 50 years of his life to broadcasting, died aboard the Queen Elizabeth cruise liner after having a heart attack. Frost will be forever remembered for his interview with former United States President, Richard Nixon, who even surprisingly apologised during his interview with Frost for the scandal surrounding Watergate.
In a released statement,
“Sir David Frost died of a heart attack last night aboard the Queen Elizabeth where he was giving a speech. His family are devastated and ask for privacy at this difficult time.”
The broadcaster’s body was found in his suite shortly after the cruise ship had left Southampton. On Tuesday his body will be flown home when the ship makes a stop in Lisbon.
You can hardly mention a world leader, prominent actor or global figure that Frost had not interviewed in his prime. His grilling demeanour and hard hitting interviews were a trademark of who he was as a broadcaster. A mixture of steely determination, unwavering dedication, forceful personality and ability to deal with delicate issues made him a reporter to be admired and he will be sorely missed by many.
