Manchester United Clear Out In Progress
Its agreed now, among everyone in the know, that Manchester United have had a very poor start to the season. Those games they would have scraped through and won, they are struggling through and losing. Games they would have won because of Sir Alex Ferguson’s reputation, they are now losing.
So what is the solution to a season that is heading the opposite way to north. It seems as if David Moyes is planning on a Manchester United clear out, and starting with a blank canvas so to speak. The problem with this is, some of the players that are on the ‘out list’ have shown themselves to be versatile and worthy members of the squad.
One of the players that is counting his days at Old Trafford is Javier Hernandez, he wears the shirt with ‘chicharito’ on the back. He has proved to be a flexible member of the attacking line up, scoring goals when United needed them and using his pace to terrorise many a defense. He wasn’t purchased by Moyes but his quality is undeniable, scoring goals when not getting a long run of games in the side. He has become a fan favourite, similar in ways to United legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Big players are out of the question in the winter transfer window
A Manchester United clear out has been expected. When a new manager takes control, he will have the desire to put his own stamp on his new team. David Moyes is no different. However, the frustration for Red Devil fans has been the fact that the one new purchase is not up to standard, and the players that could be lost are of a better quality.
Englishman Ashley Young, who was brought to United because of his potential has also fallen out of favour, and fallen out of favour fast. His career at United started well but a long term injury set him back, and as such he has failed to find a consistent spot in the United first team. Only playing six games under Moyes this season, which for a player trying to get into England’s World Cup squad for next summer is not a happy situation.
Anderson is another player who could be sold in the Manchester United clear out, having only played three games this season. The box to box player seems to have dropped in the pecking order, and it appears as if Manchester United are desperate to get rid of him this coming transfer window.
Where does this leave Manchester United, well it may mean that Moyes is looking to buy but wants to sell before he does. Big players will be hard to purchase in the winter transfer window. Most will be cup tied, so Champions League football will be out of the question. And with United struggling in the Premiership, the most likely situation for them is to rebuild the side for next season. With the main aim for the current season to secure Champions League football for next season.
