Monty Panesar’s International Career A Thing Of The Past
As the dust settles from a disastrous Ashes tour, it becomes apparent that the next England test team to take the field will be unfamiliar. Graeme Swann and Kevin Pietersen will be two of the biggest high profile exclusions, with the latter still available to play if the those in charge see sense. However, the list of casualties is set to grow as the disappointment from the series down under starts to show on the English side.
Monty Panesar will most definitely be the other big name, who is looking at seeing his international test match career being part of history. He has found himself in the news for all the wrong reasons in the recent past, a vast contrast from his start as an international player.
England’s spin department to be overhauled with Monty Panesar and James Tredwell no longer required
In the spin department it also looks as if James Tredwell will no longer be considered as a test match option. Without Tredwell and Monty Panesar England’s next spinner will have a huge opportunity. Its not as if England are without options, the country is full of talent and as such it might be time for selectors to do the right thing and show the youth some faith and trust.
No team and no collection of players want to taste defeat. But with the loss England have realised it might be more valuable for a younger team to experience some defeat to toughen them up. Moulding them into match winners because the current batch of players have definitely lost the hunger.
