Nemanja Vidic Off To Inter Milan
Inter Milan, giants of Italian football, have announced the signing of Manchester United’s skipper Nemanja Vidic. The defender will be the first high profile player leaving the club, a player which thrived during the Sir Alex Ferguson era. But with David Moyes nearing the end of his first season at Old Trafford, it definitely looks like Manchester United will have to work hard to build another champion side.
Inter Milan bound Nemanja Vidic had already stated that he would be leaving United at the end of his current contract, which expires at the end of the season. Having been linked with almost every top side in Europe, which makes sense since he is a top quality old-fashioned centre back, he finally decided on playing at the San Siro.
A standing ovation will be a certainty when Vidic leaves United
The Serbian defender was playing at Spartak Moscow when Manchester United signed him, a wise decision it was too as the player went on to win every major honour from English football. Premier League titles, League Cups and even a Champions League trophy are not bad memories to take to Italy and Inter Milan.
He will definitely be missed by United, where he played alongside Rio Ferdinand. Both forging a decent partnership in defence. Nemanja Vidic has been quoted as saying that Manchester United was the only club he would have liked to play for in English football, and as such could not even think of playing for another. Which is the reason he chose to move abroad. What will be certain is the standing ovation he will get, once he plays his last game for the Red Devils.
