New Car Tyre Inflates Itself

New Car Tyre Inflates Itself

Life saving technology is a wonderful thing, and the development of a self-inflating tyre just so happens to fall into that category. The reason being is that we as people rarely check our car tyres as often as we should, and lets be honest we should check them often. The reason we don’t is because we are a lazy bunch and this can be a fatal mistake to make, a lesson which many often learn of in the most unfortunate way.

Now, the technology which has been created is not exactly for cars, it is for trucks. However, it won’t be long till the same types of tyres will be available for cars. There is a few positives when this does happen, for one it will remove some of the likelihood of tyres blowing out when cars are moving at high speed. This in turn should keep drivers safer, and importantly save a fair few lives in the process. I bet its starting to sound like life saving technology.

500,000 mile lifespan for Aperia Halo technology

The Aperia Halo technology automatically detects when a tyre needs air, at which point it will add it on its own. And the tyre can be in motion when the inflating takes place, so there is no need to stop and it works in almost every type of weather.

However, this does not remove the fact that we should be checking our car tyres, we should be undertaking car checks routinely since safety is paramount. All because technology can fail, which is why it would be important to get the technology checked on a regular basis. The company who have designed and created the Aperia Halo technology have said that each system should be fine for 500,000 miles, after which it will need checking and possibly replacing. But its a small price to pay for potentially life saving technology.
