No Harmony At Manchester United
With Manchester United struggling to gain any control over their season, their situation is only getting worse with the unity of their squad in question. Wilfred Zaha is reported to have left United’s training ground, after a disagreement with David Moyes came to a head. It is claimed that the player requested a loan move, only to be turned down by Old Trafford’s new manager.
There is the sense that a great deal of work needs to be done at United for them to reach their former heights, and players who had felt they were at a successful side would be frustrated at their new reality.
Could this be the tip of the iceberg?
Since his move to United from Crystal Palace he has only made two appearances in the Premiership, both of which saw him come on as a substitute. With Zaha playing for the England under-21 side he may have an eye on forcing himself into the World Cup squad, which wouldn’t happen without regular first team football.
Manchester United are not interested in letting the player go. But Newcastle, West Brom and Cardiff have all made their interest in Wilfred Zaha known. The 20-year old held a meeting with United officials, but the meeting didn’t go to plan. Zaha ended up in a heated discussion with the clubs officials, then left the training ground in a rage.
With the winter transfer window closed, Wilfred Zaha will have to remain at United playing backup to both Ashley Young and Nani who are injured. A club like Manchester United in decline is hard for all those directly concerned, and this rift could be the tip of the iceberg.
