Pietersen Still Being Blamed, This Time By Broad
A player who has the most appeal than any other in the England side may have gotten a lot more support had he been playing for another country. But weeks after Kevin Pietersen had learned his international career was over, current England players still feel the need to use his name to make a point about the failing England cricket team moving forward.
The reality for many of England’s current players is the fact that only a small handful can say they’ve had an impact that can rival Kevin Pietersen’s. And while he himself has managed to stay quiet and move forward in his career, players like new one-day captain Stuart Broad still speak negatively about the player who has helped England climb the international rankings.
Pietersen could have the last laugh
All-rounder and England’s one-day captain Stuart Broad has come out to say that England’s poor showing in the Ashes tour was the instigating factor for changes to the side. Yet the only one so far has been Kevin Pietersen. Broad went on to say that the changes were motivated by the players, who want to improve in the long term. But with sport science improving and players paying more attention to their own health, there is nothing to say that Pietersen wouldn’t have been in the team for many more years to come.
Players go in and out of form, and ones who have an aggressive streak go from one extreme to the other drastically. Yes Kevin Pietersen was out of odds but he wasn’t the reason for the losses. The team as a whole is to blame which includes one-day captain Stuart Broad included, and players who weren’t able to cope with the pressure left on their own accord. By kicking Pietersen out of the team in the fashion he was, it may be the player himself who gets the last laugh.
