Qatar Or Not Qatar

Qatar Or Not Qatar

Figures released by the UN have shown that Qatar is becoming a very a popular destination for British expatriates. The numbers are showing that there are almost 500 new immigrants moving into the country every single day, and this has caused a jump of 143,000 in the population of the Arab state. The increase in the number of British expatriates in Qatar along with other immigrants, has now meant that the total population is just under 1.84 million.

However, the growth in population is now taking its toll on other everyday aspects in the country. The increase in demand for school places cannot be met, and this has forced many British expatriates in Qatar to educate their children at home. Furthermore, due to the extra people, the infrastructure is reaching its functioning limit. With most of the commuters finding themselves stuck in traffic for longer than they would like.

Qatar offers more to expatriates

There are adjustments that those entering into any Arab nation would have to make. This also applies to British expatriates in Qatar. Dressing modestly, and respecting the traditions of the country are just two. As Brits, we would also like those people coming into the United Kingdom to embrace our culture. So it would only be fair if the same sentiment was reflected when we are in another foreign country.

The large gap between the rich and poor is another fact that expatriates will have to get used to, since the nation is being built by a cheap labour force. Most of these men have come from south Asia, and after paying large sums of money for their visas they find themselves in debt. This is something that also needs to be understood, after all Qatar is in the process of a major improvements.

The fact is, most expatriates moving to Qatar are already in a better position, and they are being embraced in a land that offers them opportunities. As they are more than likely moving because they have already secured employment. Which is one of the main reasons anyone would think about immigrating to pastures new. And if you do have a job, then it may be a nice idea to help improve the very place giving you an opportunity for the life you are seeking.
